This 12.5" F10 mirror is 1 7/8" thick and was one of two purchased, refigured and tested by Don Surles. I had contacted Don back in January to verify he had owned it and he told me "You have one of the mirrors...I believe the figure was "corrected" at one of our MidAtlantic Mirror Making Seminars and was probably checked and passed by Steve Swayze, Swayze Optical." I was planning on using this mirror in an "Ed Jones Chiefspiegler" design to shorten the overall 10' tube length to a shorter length so no step ladder was required for visual observation; I have since questioned my expertise in properly completing this design... maybe you have that expertise? There is one small edge chip that can be covered by a retaining clip and the surface coating is in pretty good shape; no fingerprints or "cleaning swirls". The mirror does have a random unusual mottling on the surface which I believe was caused by a previous owner's bad storage choice of using a piece of cardboard to cover the mirror surface. Check out the pictures. I will include a rugged custom made aluminum mirror mount that is adjustable. Shipping with insurance will be $40 Sometimes email sent through Astromart never reaches me, so I can also be reached at [email protected]
