This tripod was one of Celestron's many generous offerings back in the late 1980s to about 1996. In terms of durability, construction quality, and ease of use, I place it squarely with a Bogen of equal load capacity.

My most favorite feature of this particular setup is the center shaft brace has an adjustable spreader; so your legs can stance significantly further away from the center, giving it the ability to get low and squat with the land for those difficult camera shots.
Each leg has (2) quick release brackets for extending an additional 27.75-inches of length (not complete height). Then each foot has a twist-to-expose steel tip, which can be recessed and stand on rubber feet. Nifty!

The pan head will adjust for vertical, horizontal, and tilt; making it possible to fully frame a vertical or horizontal photo.

This tripod has all the parts and functions as it should. The top plate, where you mount your scope, binocular, or camera, has some cracks in the rubber, but all is held firmly as these don't run through. And at that, this is just a friction pad; it is not the foundation of the pan head itself.
The large control handle is perfect, but the geared plastic collar has a crack in it with some separation. This will still hold fine, but depending on your needs, you may wish to fuse it back together or replace it. Not a major ordeal by any means, but it needs to be mentioned.

Center shaft and extension assembly works flawlessly as do the telescoping features of the legs. The bubble level is perfect. Overall cosmetics are excellent and attractive. I love the orange lettering on black looks that Celestron is so well known for back then. Capacity is good for 80mm binoculars, any year of C90 or Meade ETX ota, any 60mm refractor, outstanding for use with the FC-50, Short Tube 80, and Master Birder 80. Also very easy to use with a 35mm with 200-300mm lens while on the hike.

This tripod is mainly aluminum and steel in construction, but still only weighs 7 pounds in the raw. Perfect for people up to 6 ft tall.

All nations welcome to bid.
