This is kind of a full dew kit system for those of you who will need 2 to 4 dew strips running. I got this 3 years ago from a trade with a Nexstar 8SE and the previous owner was on the west side of WA State where the dew likes to be. Here in Spokane area, dew is rare. And at that, I use reflectors and refractors and don't find I need the heater strips.
That aside, these are HIGHLY useful to you imagers out there who have to combat it night after night. So, this mish mash of dew accessories will find high value in your observing/imaging agenda.
Here's what's included in the auction:
* Thousand Oaks Optical 4 Channel Digital Dew Heater Control with original instructions (instructions not in photos)
* Dew Not 1.75" x 6.5" heat strip
* Dew Not 1.75" x 8.95" heat strip
* Dew Not 1.75" x 13.3" heat strip
* Dew Not 1.75" x 29.7" heat strip
* Multi-Function 4-way 12v to 24v DC cigarette jack splitter with dual USB charger port
* Male plug cigarette lighter adapter-to-bare wire lugs (size M6)
The Dew Not strips will all plug into the Thousand Oaks 4 Channel system with ease. It is quite common practice to use Dew Not and even Kendrick heater strips on the Thousand Oaks channel units without the worry of shortages.
The sizes I stated on the strips is for the ACTUAL PHYSICAL SIZE of the strip laid-out; not to include the velcro end-straps or power cable. The largest strip will work on your Meade 8 or Celestron C8 (yes, also on the Nexstar 8). Each strip has a male RCA conductor ends, which will mate perfectly into the Thousand Oaks female ports. The nifty thing here is that each port on the 4 Channel Controller has an independent heat toggle; so you can use (4) different heat strips at (4) different heat levels; in the way back when days, you would be stuck running (2) to (3) heaters all at the same heat level; which was "on" or "off".
The Multi-function 4-way cigarette jack splitter can be plugged directly into your car's cigarette lighter jack, or even better, your large, portable power tank. OR you could have a deep cycle 12v RV battery on hand and draw from that. There's quite a few options here. And while your powering your dew strips, you can also charge your smart devices, or other things; like headsets, Garmin computers, even high output radars and beams for your road bike.
The unique male plug cigarette adapter to bare wire lugs unit can serve as a means of supplying power to a modified inverter.
I have not used this kit for about 1.5 years now and it has been stored indoors in very dry air Spokane, WA. The last night I used it, all worked exactly as it should.
Physical condition of this entire kit is perfect; no cracks or chips to any of the port bodies; also to include the plastic and/or bakelite jack terminal housings. NO corrosion on the ports or pins. NO kinks or frayes on any of the cables. NO unraveling or splits in the heater strips. NO issues with the velcro straps not sticking.
NO pet hair all over the heater strips, yay!!!
Cosmetics are very excellent-to-mint. The only thing missing on any of this is one of the protective port plugs on the Thousand Oaks' 4 Channel unit. The other port covers plugs are present.
All nations welcome to bid.
