The four inch focuser is known for a "heavy" feel and therefore is not preferred for visual observing. On the other hand if the idea is to lock it down for photography and do occasional visual observing this is a good way to go. Microfocus, original focus knob, camera angle adjuster (CAA) included, as well as a stepdown visual back for a two inch diagonal. Also includes a focus extender with an adapter for 1.25" eyepieces. Just the CAA and the Microfocus together sell new for $350. In essence this auction is to determine the value of the focuser which is too rare on the used market to have a meaningful used price. The focuser is on the adapter very tightly and I'm leaving it on so as not to cause cosmetic damage. You may need a strap wrench and other tricks to get the two apart...maybe as easy as use a hair dryer to get the top part to expand and loosen up. One of the pics shows a close up of the joint between the two parts. Sale also includes previous owner's custom step-down ring for a binoviewer. The original owner states: Greg-the custom piece...allows for a binoviewer to be used without OCS, OCA etc... in 1 1/4" mode. It attaches to the focuser with the ring just with the three thumbscrews (shown as one piece in pic here). Worked really will with a Denkmeier II binoweiver and Lumicon Lumibrite which is a low profile 1 1/4" diaganol, not with others such as a Televue. Cannot vouch for any other brand binoviewer. This part will likely only work on the Tak FS 128F, FS 128F NSV-you own the only one in the country (at the time of the purchase from me: 4" focuser and shortened OTA) or possibly the FS 152 or the FS 152 NSV if it has the 4" focuser (which some do not) as it has the same focuser. It'd be a trial and error sale/purchase. (update 5/4/08: original owner who made custom piece is willing to exchange email with buyer if there are more questions) I'm not familiar enough with Tak interchangeability to say which OTAs it fits besides the FS128.
