Takahashi TeeGull Altaz Mount Modification Parts.
I hired an engineering firm to try to get rid of the vibrations from my TeeGull mount. We came up with this solution which uses three (3) custom made parts, a bolt and washer.
When the modification parts are installed there are no vibrations when adjusting either of the two axes, or when focusing. After a firm rap to the side of the telescope all movement damps out in less than approx. one second with magnifications up to 200x, and in less than approx. two sconds with magnifications up to 350x. This is quite an improvement from the previous 8-9+ seconds before the modifications.
My engineering firm made a few extra sets of the modification parts. The price for the stabilization parts is $200 plus $10 for packaging, postage and insurance. There was only one custom eyepiece tray made.
The parts were made by an engineering firm that does subcontracting for Jet Propolsion Laboratory and they made the sample collector that will be flying to Mars on an upcoming mission. I mention this so you will know that this shop does do very exacting and fine work.
I will send you complete instructions on how to install the stabilization modifications. I would also be glad to send you a picture of the three parts uninstalled.
Note that you will have to have the Takahashi TeeGull Altaz mount to intall these parts which is not included in the price. Also not included is my Astro-Physics Stowaway telescope that is shown in the picture.
