Orion Deep Space Explorer 8 Inch F6 Newtonian Reflector on Dobsonian Mount with 10mm & 17mm eyepieces and instruction manual. Includes extras: Telrad finder, tube handle and tube cap and counter balance.

Several improvements: larger more comfortable base handle, improved azimuth movement with better bearings, lengthened legs for good stability on rough ground, tube fully blackened and baffled for better stray light control, added tensioning system for altitude movement which improved feel and balance.

Excellent optics. Stars tests shows equal defraction rings on both sides of focus. Stars are sharp and good planet detail. Excellent condition: tube and mount do show a few marks from use and accessory changes, but it has been well cared for and looks good.

Purchased new May of 1999. Original costs including shipping: scope $563, telrad $42, tube handle $30, tube cap $10, counter balance $50. Selling price: $375 for all. Delivered within 1/2 day drive of New Jersey or will split shipping costs. I think that is a reasonable price, but I'm not always a good judge. I will be letting it go within a couple of weeks regardless, so you're welcome to make an offer.

This has been my favorite scope and is very enjoyable to use, but a "project" scope will be completed soon and that will make too many telescopes.

Digital setting circles are installed, which I planned to keep, but if you really want them we can work something out.

Thanks for looking. Ron
