Celestron contracted with SBIG to supply them with this camera which is functionally equal to the ST 237 sold directly by SBIG. For information about the current SBIG version (ST237A) go to the SBIG website @, select products and online catalog. The major difference between the newest camera and the older models is the readout is now 16 bit, whereas it is 12 bit in the older models.
This camera includes the color filter wheel installed and the original non color wheel is also included. The manuals, both for operations and software are included. The software includes CCDOPS, version 3.55 (DOS based), CCDOPS, version 4.00 for Win'95. Also CCDSOFT version 4.00.020 for minipulating the images. I will also include a demo version 4 of The Sky Astronomy Software.
New prices are $1295 for the CCD, $399 for the color filter wheel - I will sell this setup for the price of the new camera and include the color filter wheel - $1295 plus shipping & insurance, OBO.
Optionally, I have a new (used once) Stellar Technologies International, Series III Stiletto Focuser for the ST237, which cost $200 new, that is available for $150 additional if you are interested. I would consider selling the focuser by itself, however only after the CCD has been sold. I am open to offers as well.
Reason for selling, I just do not seem to have the time to use this equipment enough to justify keeping it. I guess I have more fun just viewing the stars instead.
Thank you for looking.
