Atomic Equatorial platforms are designed to give high quality performance at a reasonable price. They are also incredibly rugged and designed to last a lifetime. Once you have used your dobsonian with an Atomic equatorial platform you will wonder how you lived without one! Imagine adding tracking capability to your dob for about the price of a premium eyepiece.
The specifications for this platform:
- latitude set: 33 degrees. Can operate precisely from 30 to 36 degrees by factory setting the rear level to your exact latitude.
- This platform is brand new and has been star tested for proper tracking.
- Center of gravity: 20 inches above the top board.
- Top-board Width: 20 inches, depth: 17 inches
- Can accomodate up to a 15 inch obsession style dobsonian.
- Digital angle tool bracket included (angle tool sold seperately-$40)
Our platforms are fabricated with the finest materials:
- 13-ply baltic birch and solid Hardwood North and South sector.
- All metal bearings and bearing supports (No plastic!)
- Professionally applied marine grade SPAR polyurethane finish.
- Direct drive Celestron DC motor with 9V battery (typical battery life of 40 hours).
