This is my pride and joy and has served me well for the past 4 years, but I'm getting older and the plans for building a permanent observatory are fading so it's time to start thinking about something different.
Without a doubt this is one of the finest examples of the Nexstar 11 GPS systems. It has been well taken care of and looks and runs as though it is brand new. Finds, goto, and tracks remarkably well. I use this scope primarily for live astrophoto using a Mallincam Hyper Plus Color and have been very happy with the scopes tracking ability to keep the objects of interest in view. I have also used this scope with fine eyepieces as well as binos and have had quite a few wonderful viewing sessions.
There is alot of information on the web about this remarkable system. And in my opinion (and many others) it's the best SCT ever made. Carbon Fiber body, Starbright XLT coatings (thanks to Joe for reminding me to put this info in the ad) and Fastar compatible.
I have made several upgrades to include the following.
-Losmandy upper plate
-Counterweight system (this is a Meade modified to fit, works and looks great)
-JMI SCT Focuser
-JMI SmartFocus
-CPC Tripod for the CPC 11 replaced the Nexstar Field tripod. This is an outstanding tripod, very stable and much easier to mount the scope on.
-CPC Hand Controller (allows extra features and upgrades. The original hand controller is also included)
-AstroZap Dew Shield with built in dew heater
-Hartmann Mask Face Plate cover (original is also included) The mask has three rubber inserts, you can remove them as needed. Included is a mylar sun filter that fits and allows for off-axis sun observation.
-JMI Nexstar 11 case
-Bobs Knobs
I have the orginal boxes for the scope and the tripod for shipping. I am willing to ship anywhere but would prefer local pickup.
