RARE ZEISS WEST 50/500 A lense SOLD to Gian

Little background story: Half a year ago I had stumbled over three lenses marked "Carl Zeiss AS 80/1250".
Since I had never seen a Zeiss AS 80/1250 (all Zeiss Jena semi apos have either 80/840 or 80/1200 specifications) I did some research and was told these where ZEISS WEST lenses of high quality that they were used at the Zeiss factory for collimation purposes. When I compared them with my Zeiss Jena AS 80/1200 semi apo it turned out they were every bit as good as the famous Zeiss Jena lenses.

Now a few weeks ago I stumbled over a pair of smaller lenses looking quite the same as those ZEISS WEST AS 80ies.
These smaller (D=50mm) lenses were marked
"Carl Zeiss Objektiv f = 500 A"
These are obviously cemented doublets, at least there are no spacers visible.

So I built a tube from some Zeiss M44 extensions in order to test their quality and compare them to the famous Zeiss 50/540 C (cemented doublet achromat) and E (airspaced achromat) telescopes I own already.

Turns out those Zeiss West 50/500 lenses are excellent astro - optics which are at least as good as those little Zeiss Jena gems are. I decided to keep one. This makes an excellent modular design little scope that can be disassembled into five small 3,5 inch long pieces within a minute. (See picture ! Not for sale ! just as an illustration what you might build from the second lense, because.......the second 50/500 lense is left for sale.

D = 50 mm
f = 500 mm
weight = 250 gr.
