Selsi 40 x 60 mm spotting scope with field tripod.
This is an interesting little scope from the late 1950s. Although not necessarily designed for astronomical use, it has a well-corrected 60 x 500 mm cemented objective that gives crisp (upright) images of the moon and the brighter planets. For its age, the original paint is in excellent shape overall and its optics are clear.
Although similar OTAs were apparently also sold as simple, hand-held scopes, this one comes with an exceptionally nice wood and metal tripod.
The last photo, taken in 1959, shows one of these little scopes (on the left) at a star party here in Jacksonville. My first telescope, purchased for me by my parents at about this time, was the smaller version of this scope, a 20 x 40 mm model with the same red and white paint scheme.
Asking $65.00 plus shipping, or best offer. A very nice vintage scope, and you don't see many of these.
