Hello all, I have a Criterion RV-6 that needs to find a good home. I don't know a whole lot about it but will try to answer questions as best as I can. It is in good condition for its age. There is some chipping of the tube on the mirror end, but otherwise in great condition. There are some scratches and such on the tube and mount which may be expected for its age. As far as the mirror is concerned, it's great at least as far as I know. We took it out the other night and Jupiter looked darn good. I can't vouch for the tracking motor. I know it powers up and if taken apart you can see the calibration mark spinning away. I'm just not sure how to set it up correctly to see if it truly tracks. It also comes with three eyepieces (AR 7mm, AR 12mm and AR 18mm) as well as 3 hex wrenches. These all come in a nice wooden case with felt lining for the eyepieces. The box does not look like it came from the manufacturer, but is very nicely built. When I first got the scope, the mount tipped over and broke one of the saddle Mounts. I have since put in a stock replacement. When I got the new saddle mount it also came with an extra tracking motor and counterweight arm. At least you will have spare motor parts if need be lol.
As shipping is concerned, I would rather have it be picked up. I can also deliver it within about 200 miles as long as you split gas with me lol. I can ship it if necessary, though I'm not sure how much it would cost. I just know it would be darn heavy. Either way, we can work something out.
Thanks for looking.
