I'm offering a very nice 4" Unitron equatorial refractor for sale. This honey is close to 85 to 90% mint. It would not take much to get this scope to 100% mint. This will not be a bidding war and I choose to sell to whomever I want for it is my objective to get this classic into the hands of a lover of antique scopes and one who is willing to work on this scope to make it better. As far as I know this Unitron has all original parts except for the motor drive which is Meade clock drive. This scope has 18 eyepieces, mostly all Unitrons, including two 40mm Monos, along with the unihex eyepiece holder. The equatorial mount has no rust. I had a friend clean the finder scope, which showed some dirty specks and after cleaning it still has some specks. As far as I know the primary objective is OK. If I do not sell this scope I most likely will have Barry at D&G take out the lens, clean it and collimate it. I have looked through this scope very little since I am a collector of old scopes and do not use them as my primary telescope for viewing. Several times I have I viewed Saturn and it had good contrast and resolution. I will not respond to any inquires until after five days from the date this ad was placed on Astromart so as to gather all responses, which then I can evaluate the interest of each responder for this real classic. I think this scope could be worth as much as $3500 but I will offer it for $3200 plus shipping. If the scope needs to be shipped I will only ship it via professional packing which will increase the cost. I would entertain some sort of trade but it would have to be of great interest to me.
