Antonin Becvar's Atlas Australis, Borealis, and Eclipticalis, 1950, Second Edition, with Skalnate Pleso Atlas of the Heavens Desk Edition
OK, What's it gonna take to get these fine, low milage star atlases off the showroom floor? [They were used by a little old amateur astronomer who only observed on Sundays...] Incentives, rebates, zero percent interest? Crazy Milt says "Let's deal!"
These three, very large star atlases are the later, spiral bound editons published by Sky Publishing Corporation in the 1970s. As most amateurs will know, these atlases show all cataloged stars down to 9th magnitude - and often well below - with each object colored according to its spectral type. No non-stellar objects are plotted, however.
The Skalnate Pleso Desk Editon 1950 (black objects on white background)is a necessary "index" for navigating around in these huge atlases as there is a minimum of positional description provided. The large altases are in excellent used condition; the desk set shows some foxing on the cover sheet.
Asking $150.00 for the complete set of four (plus postage), or $45.00 each for Australis and Borealis, $65.00 for Eclipticalis, and $10.00 for the desk editon, plus postage for each item. Please email for additional details.
