I have a complete film astrophotography setup for sale.
I cribbed the following from an old ad. It all applies to my camera.
"RiC Astro/Micro Telephoto version of the Miranda Laborec III. This Laborec model is very rare, and probably the best 35mm dedicated astrocamera ever made - unlike typical 35mm cameras, its magnifying right angle viewfinder (with large, diopter adjustment) provides a very bright, wide field image to enable quick, accurate focusing on star fields, planets or deep-sky objects. The shutter is wound with a knob - not a lever - to minimize shake. The shutter has a unique, vibrationless feature that eliminates mirror slap - depress the cable release part way and the mirror gently lifts up - depress it fully and the shutter trips (camera operates with cable release only). Shutter speeds B . 1/500; flash sync. at 1/45. B&W/Color/Neg./Pos. film reminder feature."
My camera is in excellent condition and works fine. I bought it new around 1978 and used it quite a bit for lunar, planetary, and constellation photography for a few years. It has been stored carefully since then.
I can include:
1) The Miranda Laborec, a Pentax thread adapter, and the original ground
glass focusing screen.
2) A prime focus adapter and an eyepiece projection adapter that fit the
Miranda (using the Pentax thread adapter).
3) Two Kaligar camera lenses, an f/3.5 35mm wide field lens and an f/3.5
135mm telephoto lens that fit the Miranda (using the Pentax thread
adapter). These lenses are in pretty good shape, except that the focus
ring on the telephoto lens is loose and needs to be refit and tightened.
4) A Kamilar SR-100 generic manual SLR camera body, which fits the above
lenses, is also good for general photography, is in good condition and
I'd like $200 for the Miranda Laborec camera body, Pentax thread adapter,
and the original ground glass focusing screen.
I can throw in the prime and eyepiece projection adapters, and the two
camera lenses for another $75. I can include the Kalimar camera body for
$300 takes everything. Prices include shipping in the CONUS. Paypal prefered (no credit/debit cards please), otherwise cashier's check or money order.
Thanks for looking.
