I never thought the day would come when I’d consider selling my beloved C14, but here it is. I don’t do visual observing any longer and the scope is just sitting in the closet not being utilized. If you’ve always wanted an orange tube C14, now’s the chance to snag a really great one.
FOR SALE: 1970’s vintage orange tube C-14 OTA with absolutely exquisite optics and great star test. This telescope provides incredible resolution and contrast on deep sky objects and planets, easily outperforms plenty of other C-14’s and rivals much larger Dobsonian scopes in side-by-side tests. I’ve seen the Encke Gap on Saturn’s ring with this telescope and have split doubles visually down to 0.36 arc-sec (HO 581), attesting to it’s optical quality. Globular clusters and planetary nebulae are stunning when viewed through this scope. Also used for astrophotography (see photo of M27 included with ad). The OTA interior is flocked with Protostar on a thin plastic backing that is completely removable and very professionally done. Primary baffle tube exterior has Dow-Corning high vacuum grease coating for low image shift. Optics are very clean! Custom C-14 decals on both sides of OTA completely hide scuff marks from when this scope was mounted and demounted on the original fork mount. No other major marks or blemishes anywhere on surface. This scope has been given lots of TLC and attention. Included in price are the following accessories:
