Stellarvue 102D OTA with 2-speed JMI DX1 focuser, black hinged rings, red-dot finder, Stellarvue 2" diagonal (standard alum. coating) w/ 1.25" adaptor, black alum.dust cover w/ SV logo and original plastic dust cover. Also a custom molded luggage style case (by SKB, Orange,Ca.) with side and end handles and wheels.

This model has the rotating focuser, retractable dew shield and attenuated achromatic lens in a heavy metal cell for superb chromatic color suppression. The only obvious fringing I have seen was on Venus. Vega showed a very small amount and Jupiter showed a very thin ring but only when the seeing conditions were not very good and even then you had to look for it. The moon showed none; only a jet black sky beside it. This lens shows a very flat and well corrected field and is good for imaging. (See the 102D review at Cloudy Nights) Focal length is 704mm, f/6.9. Optics in excellent condition, cleaned very sparingly. Fit and finish is typical Stellarvue quality with only a tiny paint chip underneath the tube by the focuser. Beautiful white glossy body with glossy black dew shield and JMI focuser. Well baffled; 3 in the body and 2 in the focuser give high contrast. This scope has the build of a fine APO for much less money with excellent optics that come pretty close. The 2-speed focuser makes fine focusing a breeze. For a four inch scope you will not be disappointed. I am selling because of too many toys and too little time. Cost of everything new is $1350 so you are saving over $400. The scope is about 3 years old and has been used very little as is obvious from its fine condition. Serial no. 00026. thanks for looking.
