I just received a call from John in California wondering if we had a going-out-of-business sale going on. John mentioned he hadn't seen many ads lately on AstroMart, and thought I had either died, or was tongue tied. So, I guess I owe everyone an explanation and an apology:

The main reason is that for the past four months we've been expanding our manufacturing facilities. The result is that I now have another 400 sq. ft. of production area for Series IV focusers. This includes a new 'clean' room for mounting optical components where dust, cat hair, and my mother-in-law can't get in. At the same time, I put on an addition to our home including a bedroom, bathroom, and walk-in closet so that she could move in permanently. Then, there was the challenge of physically moving my mother-in-law and her belongings from Florida to Texas. The moving van pulled out of our driveway yesterday, and I now find that we have two home furnishings of everything to sort through.

The good part is that the end is finally in sight. Eight-five year-old 'Dotty' is now a permanent member of the household and will be a contributing member of the STI staff making coffee and answering the phone once in a while when she remembers to put in her hearing-aide.

I'm still unsure why I did all of this. The clean room I can understand, the mother-in-law I cannot. Oh well, maybe there's a new star in the sky popping up for me somewhere. Which reminds me:

Series IV 'Stiletto' focusers are still selling like hotcakes. If you are into
astrophotography, you need one. Period. The Series IV is simply the fastest and most precise way to focus a camera, be it a 35mm, CCD,Medium Format, or a brand-new DSLR. And it's guaranteed. So, hop on over to our website now to check out all of the technical information, or give me a call anytime. If I'm not around, you-know-who may answer the phone....

Clear Skies!
