I have a Meade 208XT CCD/Autoguider camera for sale. Excellent Condition with all cables, original manual, and brand new power/computer cables included.
This is a great starter camera which can also be used as an autoguider. It can not only work stand-alone like the 201XT, but also through a computer which makes finding and focusing on a guide star much easier.
The official Meade description follows:
Incorporating the Texas Instruments TC-255 CCD microchip, the Pictor 208XT's 3.3mm x 2.4mm active area is comprised of a 336 x 242-pixel array of 10-micron-square pixels. Combining low (less than 36 electrons) readout noise, very low dark current, and an 8-bit analog-to-digital (A/D) converter permitting 256 shades of image brightness, the 208XT is an excellent device for black-and-white imaging, whether in the hands of the novice or the more experienced user.
The Pictor 208XT may be operated either as an autoguider or as an imaging camera. In the autoguider mode, operation of the Pictor 208XT is identical to that of the Pictor 201XT, except that, because of the Pictor 208XT's thermoelectric cooling system, guide stars as faint as 14th-magnitude may be employed.
Operation of all Meade imagers, including the 208XT, is through any Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows 3.x-based personal computer. And, with the automatic, as well as manual, exposure settings, dark current exposure, and flat-field compensation common to all four Pictor imager models, the 208XT is quick, simple, and hassle-free to use. The thorough instruction manual takes the user step-by-step from beginning applications to more advanced imaging
