We will not compete!

Call me a wuz, but I really try to avoid most confrontation in life when it comes to love and business. I figure that there are a thousand branches on the road we're all on and who am I to tell you that you had better take the one on the right to avoid disaster. We all learn from our own mistakes (or should), so I believe it's just a matter of time before everyone finds what's really right for them. And this applies, of course, to focusing your camera to get some great astrophotos.

The Series IV 'Stiletto' focuser was first created for myself. I had tried magnifiers, brightscreens, masks, diffraction focusing, and parfocal eyepieces until I was blue in the face. Nothing seemed to work until I did a lot of research and finally came up with the basic design of the Series IV five years ago. That this became the premier way to focus a camera for astrophotographers and is now plopped in the middle of Sky & Telescope magazine was really unintentional. My first design prototype was so full of drilled holes from fiddling around that I decided to make a new one for myself. And so, I put the prototype up for sale on AstroMart along with a camera that matched it. With the money I got, I built another focuser. But, the fellow who originally bought the prototype (Dan in Oklahoma) called me a
couple of weeks later. When I answered his phone call, I imagined that he wanted his money back! Instead, his comment was, "This gadget really is the cat's meow. I have a couple of buddies who want one too!". And so, I made a couple of more focusers just to raise a little money to pay for a Nagler I had my eye on. (Naturally,I told my wife nothing about any of this.)

And that's the way the Series IV 'Stiletto' story began. The 'Stiletto'never started out as a business, rather as a solution for guys like me tired of taking lousy photos they were ashamed to show anyone. Today Series IV models are available for all 35mm SLR camera brands, all CCD camera makes and models, and the new 35mm DSLR cameras as well.

But unlike other things in life, I will guarantee the Series IV will work for you or you get your money back. It's that simple. Visit our website for all of the technical details or give me a call anytime.

Clear Skies!
