Item being offered is the Prototype (Faint Object Camera) COSTAR Main Mirror 1 (M1) Arm Assembly. It was the sister of this arm (currently onboard Hubble as part of the Corrective Optics Space Telescope Axial Replacement - COSTAR for short), coupled with the M2, that was used to nullify the infamous error in the HST's primary mirror and allowed it to produce the stunning images we see today. This assembly is probably the only artifact of its type in a private collection and is a duplicate of the M1 Arm installed onboard the Hubble during HST Service Mission 1 as a component of the COSTAR Payload. Further details/images are available on my website (contact me off list for my website URL). The item was aquired from a Ball Aerospace scrap auction.

An extremely rare and historic artifact. I will entertain a trade for a Paramount ME (New/like New condition) or best offer over 10,000 USD .

Email or call (via 808 741 2134) welcome ....
