Well, the whole package didn't sell, so I am reducing the prices a little and listing the pieces from my previous ad separately. This is an air-spaced achromatic refractor OTA homebuilt using mostly commercial parts. Details:
2" JMI NGF DX-3 crayford focuser (with a 6" long drawtube)
adjustable push-pull lens cell
tube rings & dovetail for CG-5 type mounts
weight is about 9 lbs.
The tube itself is thick cardboard with black flocking inside & vinyl contact paper outside (ends have been sealed with epoxy, so it's moisture-resistant). The optics are of unknown origin; however they are coated, and well-corrected for spherical aberration. (There is some color error, but I don't know how this compares to other achromats of this aperture/focal length, since this is the only one that I've ever looked through, see the test shots taken through this scope below and judge for yourself) (there was much more detail seen visually on Jupiter than was captured in the picture, my camera is much more sensitive to poor seeing and imprecise focus than my eye).
I've got over $300 invested in all of the parts (plus a fair amount of labor).
I'll let it go for $220 shipped in the continental US. (I'll remove the lens and pack it into a separate box for transport, but I think I can get this into the same box as the rest of the OTA).
The eyepiece and 2" diagonal seen in the photo are not included at this price, but are available separately for a little bit extra.
Thanks for looking, I'd be glad to provide more details/photos upon request.
