(SOLD) PRICE REDUCED $500! Classic Starmaster 11" EL Series (the EasyLight) telescope. This system is lighter and eliminates image degrading tube currents. It has a 1.6" thick, f/5.44, 59.81" f. l., Pyrex primary mirror (equilibrates 35-50% faster than a 2") by Carl Zambuto (best in the business). Its Strehl ratio of .993 is certified and equals a Peak to Valley wavefront of 23.1, a wavefront RMS of 1/77, and is Serial Number #SM11-023. Carl's remarks: "Surface Condition: This mirror has a balanced diffraction ring indicating a good edge. The microfinish is good." The Raleigh criteria of 1/4-wave P-V is equal to a Strehl ratio of only .82! Look for R. F. Royce's excellent Strehl ratio article titled "A Better Method of Measuring Optical Performance" on the web. Excellent condition including the coatings: a single-layer ion-deposition process with quartz overcoat on the primary and a 96% dielectric-overcoated enhanced coating on the secondary. The 1-piece truss system is very solid and the primary floats freely on its supports to prevent distortion. No tools required to collimate. Oak construction with a tough polyurethane finish. Oak and ABS plastic used for the secondary cage. Premium JMI NGF-DX2 2" Crayford Feathertouch focuser with 1.25" adapter and 2-speed option (right-side knob has a 10 to 1 reduction for very fine focus). Rigel Quick Finder (with 2nd new battery); light shroud (remains in place); secondary dust cover; 2 mirror box covers: 1 for truss attached and 1 for scope broken down. Sky Commander computer with optical encoder setting circles and over 9,000 entries in 12 catalogs and a Power Sonic 12 V., 3 A. Hr. rechargeable battery allows cold weather use. Astro Systems 2"/1.25" laser collimator and all documentation for the telescope, focuser, Sky Commander, and laser. Pick up for $2200 firm or add actual packing/shipping in the US. Thanks. mike
