Baker Ritchey-Chretien Astrograph (Takahashi BRC 250) $9,500.
New on December 5th 2002. It was set up for CCD use (pictured) where it proved that it’s an excellent performer. Since its brief CCD imaging use, it has been unused in a cradle for over a year. The planned site never materialized.
My observatory has a pervasive marine haze; however, the BRC proved exceptional and deserves a dark, transparent sky site as originally planned.
It is the recent aluminum tube model, and has a “T” thread adapter for SBIG CCDs. The 83-mm image circle facilitates large format film and other CCD cameras readily available from Takahashi.
Focus, as determined by a Hartman mask (three one inch holes 120 degrees apart on a five inch radius) held over 25 degree temperature change and also when the CCD (ST10XME) was removed, and then put back on the scope. The focus is stable and solid.
It has Takahashi tube rings with a custom made Losmandy Dovetail Base and a second 17 inch Losmandy dovetail plate for longitudinal movement and precise balance with various attachments.
It includes a 10X70 Takahashi finder.
I will consider selling the Losmandy by side system, and the Astro-Physics Losmandy adapter if interested.
It will ride easily on the Losmandy Titan, AP-900, Parallax HD-150 and others which will also carry the side by side dovetail mount.
I will pay packing and shipping in the USA at $9,500.
The original cost for the basic instrument, CCD attachment and the custom Losmandy plate was over $11,700.
All reasonable offers will be considered.
If you are planning deep sky photography, CCD deep sky imaging, asteroid hunting and precise photometry you can’t do better.
Thank you for your interest.
