This Questar 3.5" Field Model has a Pyrex mirror with Broadband Coatings and a nominal 1,280mm focal length. The scope weighs less than 3 pounds and has the same optics and controls as Questar’s astronomical scope. It does not have the latter's fork mount, solar filter and star chart barrel cover.
The Questar's unique design provides 3 magnifications per eyepiece and a separate selectable camera port. Lacking the fork mount frees the observer to travel with a lighter and more compact system and it’s easily mounted on any number of photo tripods, altazimuth mounts, or on any GoTo mount that meets your budget. With a supplied Televue-Questar ocular adapter, it accepts 1.25" oculars. The scope is ruggedly built, with a forged aluminum barrel, machined full length; an aluminum anodized lens cell; and a precision-machined stainless steel central tube.
Included: Lens cap; 24mm Questar ocular (53-80X); built-in finder; stardiagonal prism; Barlow lens for eyepiece port; anodized sliding dewcap; Questar manual; camera coupling set; Questar waterproof hard carrying case w/room for camera or oculars and other small accessories that fits easily into any airline overhead.
It's in like-new condition since it's seen almost no use, and I had its exquisite optics collimated and the scope fully checked out by Questar just a few weeks ago. Questar also replaced the lens cover and shade with new ones (they had very minor blems) and Questar's invoice certifying this work is included. The scope is registered with Questar under my name.
My price is $1,950, carefully packed w/fully insured shipping to anywhere in Conus.
