Baker Ritchey-Chretien Astrograph (Takahashi BRC 250) $9,500.
New on December 5th 2002. It was set up with a CCD (pictured) where it proved it’s an excellent performer. Since its brief CCD imaging use, it has been in a cradle for a year.
My observatory has a pervasive marine haze; however, it proved exceptional and deserves a dark, transparent sky site as originally intended.
It is the recent aluminum tube model, and has a “T” thread adapter for CCDs. The 83-mm image circle facilitates large format film and CCD cameras.
Focus, as determined by a Hartman mask (three one inch holes 120 degrees apart on a five inch radius) held through over 25 degree temperature change and also when the CCD (ST10XME) was removed, and then put back on the scope. It is very stable.
It has Takahashi tube rings with a custom made Losmandy Dovetail Base and a second 17 inch Losmandy dovetail plate for longitudinal movement and precise balance with various attachments..
It includes a 10X70 Takahashi finder.
I will discuss selling the Losmandy by side system, the “Guidestar” setup and the Astro-Physics Losmandy adapter if you are interested in that system.
It will ride easily on the Losmandy Titan, AP-900, Parallax HD-150 and others which will carry the side by side dovetail mount including the “Guidestar” system.
I will pay packing and shipping in the USA at $9,500.
The original cost for the basic instrument, CCD attachment and the custom Losmandy plate was $11,695.
All reasonable offers will be considered.
If you are planning deep sky photography, CCD deep sky imaging, asteroid hunting and precise photometry you can’t do better than this BRC 250.
Thank you for your interest.
