This is a high resolution, double focusing mass spectrometer. It was made c. 1978 by V.G. Micromass of England; model 7070F. It no longer has its computer or software, but there are specialists who can provide such things as upgrades. It can also be operated manually. The computer would assist in analyzing the resulting graph; or it can be compared with graphs of known substances. It contains two diffusion pumps, three mechanical pumps, and quite a lot of manually operated electronics. It should be able to generate curves of mass vs. intensity out to ~10,000 a.m.u. A gas chromatograph of unknown condition is included: Hewlett Packard 5710A.
This unit was working 10 years ago, but has been stored under vacuum since then. I have the factory manuals. It weighs approx. 3000 lbs. It can be crated for motor freight. This is your chance to open a serious meteorite lab! Its original cost was over $400,000. $8000 or best offer.
