That was my favorite Clint Eastwood line in 'Unforgiven'
just before dirty sheriff Gene Hackman met his demise.
A lot of SBIG owners feel like the sheriff:with a top-rated
Santa Barbara, there is absolutely no excuse for not
getting pinpoint photos. But it really does have nothing to
do with deserves. Read what Rob Ritt at Tierra Mesa
Observatory had to say:

"Richard, I thought I'd send these two Test Images that
I took with my 80 mm. F/6 Refractor and the ST-8. I still
don’t have my CFW-8 but wanted to try out the ST-8 to get
an idea of what it can do. These two images have only had
a Dark Frame subtracted and little image processing was
done on them! I wanted to see how close the STI could get
to giving me an in-focus image. Both images were taken after
focusing on them with the STI and no tweaking was done on
either image. I want to thank you for the fine performance
of the STI! I hope to get down to doing serious CCD & film
imaging in the upcoming months and will be using the STI
for my focusing. When I start producing better quality images
I'll send some along, but I thought you might like to see
how well the STI is working! Thanks again for a great product!"

What Rob didn't tell you was that the Series IV 'Stiletto' took
only seconds to focus. To use it, he simply put it on his scope
and focused, then replaced it with his ST-8, took a dark frame,
and that was it.

Series IV 'Stiletto' models are available for all CCD, 35mm, 35mm
DLRs, and Medium Format cameras. And we have focusing goodies for
autoguiders, and many other astrophotography accessories too.

Visit our website for all of the details on the Series IV
'Stiletto'. You'll find that getting great astrophotos on your
next shootout depends on whether you’re carrying the best weapon.

Clear Skies!
Richard
