Trade Pending - Thanks Glen
Want a scope that your mount can manage easily ? Do you want more portability and faster cooldown time ?
I’d like to trade my Vixen VMC200L cassegrain for your Celestron C9.25 Schmidt – Cassegrain OTA.
The VMC200L is an open tube modified cassegrain design with a shielded meniscus corrector in front of the secondary mirror and an open tube that weighs less than 14lbs. It cools down rapidly and doesn’t dew up except under extreme conditions. It is designed for full coverage of a 35mm film frame for astrophotography. It has a robust Vixen 60mm rack and pinyon focuser (no image shift and the best I’ve used on a Vixen scope). More info on this scope can be seen at the Vixenamerica website. This scope provided excellent images of Saturn and Mars at opposition (see Saturn image taken with ToUcam in November). It is practically as new with the standard Vixen 6x30 finder and integral GP/ CG-5 dovetail rail, 2” and 1.25” visual backs, extension tube, and original Vixen shipping box. Only notes to condition are a few specks of dust on the primary mirror and some light marks on the dovetail rail from where it was attached to the mount. It is the white tube model, the main difference being that it looks nicer than the newer green tube model :-) I’ve also added an (easily removed) aluminum carrying handle for safe transport of the scope. Detailed images of the scope available upon request.
Reason for trade offer is that I’m looking for a bit more aperture. Would prefer a trade for a C9.25 of equal condition and we would each pay our own shipping.
Thanks for looking,
