LXD55 mount - purchased new in box from Astromart ad in June, 2003 - Hypertuned in October, 2003 - very accurate Go-To and tracking. I have thoroughly enjoyed using the LXD55 at the Peach State Star Gaze and at dark-sky sites. There is slight hesitation when using the L and R direction buttons. Do-it-Yourself Hypertune CD, Hypertune certificate,Hypertune plate (on mount) and two (2) counterweights, DC power cord with cigarette lighter plug are included.
StarGPS unit (sells for $169.00)and GPS programmed Autostar 497 handset with latest Meade downloads, programming cable and software in original box. Works great. Just connect GPS unit, turn on Autostar, wait (not long) while GPS unit loads longitude, latitude, Universal time and date...Autostar handset will then display "Easy Align".
LXD55 tripod - bottom adjustable legs are filled with #8 lead shot; upper legs are filled with tile grout to stiffen tripod and damp vibration - total tripod weight is 33 lbs. Tripod is rock solid. On antivibration pads (not included) the tripod damps vibes within about 1 second. There is some slight discoloration on the bottom part of the upper legs from grout..may be removable.
