**SOLD**

This is simply an AWESOME program, but I'm raising cash to fund another purchase.

What is Desktop Universe?

"From the team that created MaxIm DL, the most sophisticated CCD imaging software available, comes a revolutionary new program designed for every stargazer - whether you're a serious astronomer, hobbyist, educator or just curious. Featuring an allsky mosaic of nearly 20,000 images from an Apogee AP9E CCD camera and a custom-built optical system, DESKTOP UNIVERSE truly is the real thing. Why settle for dots and dashes..."

This program is very exciting to use--to view the seamless sky mosaic comprised of thousands of individual images, as well as to be able to zoom in on an object or region of interest and enjoy a great deal of detail. I have used this as a cloudy night observing substitute and it's great for that, plus it does so much more.

This is new Version 1.5, released a couple weeks ago. The biggest change from previous versions is a major overhaul to the display engine permitting DTU to run quickly on more computers--the all-sky mosaic is huge and was prone to tax system resources quite heavily. Main Sequence also reduced the RAM requirement to 128MB. It runs fantastic on my 1.7Ghz notebook with 512MB RAM (which I considered the bare mininum with v1.1) and ought to do well on much slower machines.

The software is registered, but Main Sequence should transfer registration to you, just as they did for me after I purchased it used several months ago. They sent me the v1.5 update disk (blue one in the photo below) just a few days ago. Main Sequence Software has promised free upgrades through the next major release, Version 2.0, to all registered users.

Save a bundle on a great astro program-- only $145 plus shipping in the CONUS. Box, original disks, v1.5 update disk, manual--everything that came with it. Will ship elsewhere for extra.

Thanks for looking!!
