Who says you can't have it both ways? Surf the night sky for something new or study an old favorite for hours at a time. Here's a scope that does both - Dob mount to motor driven Equatorial back to Dob in 5 min! Equatorial Mount disassembles completely to a flat package for easy transport and is precision fabricated from aluminum plate and furn. grade maple plywood. This is a one of a kind prototype custom built instrument. Tube is pressure laminated fiberglass-honeycomb construction - very low thermal expansion - very high strength & rigidity. Total Optical Tube weight is an unbelievable 30lbs = easy one person setup. Mirror is from Coulter Optics, mounted in a 9 point flotation cell machined from billet aluminum. Secondary [diagonal] is an optimum 2.6" for minimal obstruction - mounted in a Novak 4 vane spider. Primary mirror collimation adjustors extend inside the tube, then emerge so that X-Y collimation is performed while actually looking through your collimation eyepieces! Focuser is 2" low profile by Astrosystems, finder is by Tel-Rad. Because of it's light weight and portability, this scope could possibly be shipped to a buyer in the US. Many digital photos are available. Located in Denver CO
