Here is an excellent medium size dob for outstanding visual observing. The specs are as follows:

Primary mirror: 14.5” f/4.5 NOVA, enhanced optics, 2.5” thickness, 1/20th wave surface accuracy (1/10th wavefront). Coating in excellent condition.

Primary mirror cell: Astrosystems 9 point flotation aluminum cell with easily accessible collimation knobs. Cooling fan, custom rear dust shroud.

Secondary mirror: 2.6” NOVA with enhanced coatings. Novak spider and secondary mirror holder.

Focuser: 2” NGF2 Crayford with 1 ¼” adapter

Computer: Lumicon Sky Vector, 8000 objects, 4000 step hi-resolution encoders. Conveniently mounts next to focuser with Velcro.

Other: Obsession cam-lock tube clamps, Telrad, custom stretch light shroud by Starsplitter, carrying handles, custom counterweight for heavy eyepieces.

Physical: Total weight: 80 lbs

Footprint = 22” x 22”. Eyepiece height at zenith: 63” (I'm 5'8" in picture).

It is perhaps the perfect size for one-person observing as setup and transport are a breeze. I have seen incredible detail on the planets as well as 14th magnitude galaxies from only moderately dark skies, including all the Herschel objects. The woodwork is professional cabinet grade, the motions are very smooth, and numerous people agreed that it was the near equal of a 15" Obsession in a direct side-by-side comparison. This scope has been lovingly cared for and stored in my den when not in use. You will not be disappointed.

It would be very difficult to ship but I can meet within driving distance of suburban Chicago.

Asking $2900 obo.

Thx,

Joe
