Wisconsin weather just breaks your heart.... It’s small to mid-size refractors for me from hear on out. On the rare great night here (equivalent to an average night in Arizona) this scope really is a “killer”. But, up here in the land of high-level jet stream turbulence and mid to low level humid air, it just teases you.
THE CATCH... This is a great scope, BUT: Once it slid off a low stool and fell 8” onto its handle, which is scratched and slightly dented (see photo inset). Otherwise the cosmetics, mechanicals, and optics are like new. It holds collimation well, focuses smoothly and displays perfect SCT star tests (identical to before the drop). This is not a deal for the feint of heart, but check my feedback ratings, swallow hard, and save $400... (Believe me, I had to swallow hard to place this ad.)
Roughly four month old (purchased from Anacortes) C-9.25 Carbon Fiber Tube with Celestron’s new XLT coatings, with standard items (Losmandy size dovetail, 1-1/4” visual back and diagonal, 6x30 finder, and 25mm plossl) packed in the original box. Bob's Knobs installed and included. Telrad optional (add $25).
I’ve been at this over 30 years and this is the sharpest SCT (and brightest 9.25) that I have ever used.
$1000 – plus shipping expenses and PayPal fees (if any)
Postal M.O. or PayPal result in instant shipping, checks or M.O. will take time to clear. --- SOLD ---
P.S. Someone suggested that I replace or "buff out" the handle, keep my mouth shut, and save a couple of hundred dollars, but that’s not how I got 129 positive (and zero negative) ratings.
