For Sale: Glass Solar Filters for 70mm Binoculars (Pair) * (SOLD- Thanks GW)

These came with the 10x70 Fujinon binoculars I have for sale in ad # 224182. I was informed by the seller that he thought these were home-made but they are very well made if they are. They compare very well in design, resolution, and pleasant orange color to my $129 Type 2+ Thousand Oaks Optical filters that I use on my 16x70’s. As you can see from the arrow in the photo, one of the filters appears to have taken a hit at some point before I acquired them. Whatever happened, the hit did not affect either the collimation of the binoculars or the optics of the filter(s). The arrowed filter cell was slightly out of round when I received it but I have carefully reshaped the cell.

As with other glass filters I have owned, these have a handful of coating pinpricks that need to be taken care of before any solar observing. I have not taken a black sharpie to any of the pinpricks as I have had to with my Thousand Oaks filters on occasion...I thought I’d leave that up to you and to your preferred technique.

** The photo of the sun below was taken on 10/22 with a Nikon 995 Coolpix through my pair of 16x70 Fuji's with these filters attached. The sunspot grouping 484 was clearly defined.

$45 (SOLD- Thanks GW) which includes shipping in the CONUS by USPS Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation. Payment by a non-credit card Paypal transfer preferred but will also accept a Postal money order or a Bank check. I’ll give anyone who pays by Paypal $5 off in order to speed up the process.

Regards,

Dave

P.S. These have a clear aperture of 88mm and the aluminum cell has an ID of 100mm (95mm if you subtract for the inner felt).
