Super Polaris Mount with sturdy, extendable wooden tripod legs and stabilizing accessory tray. This has an RA drive and an MD-5 controller (offers 8x and 2x speeds.) It comes with a long power cord (15" to 20")that can be plugged into a cigarette lighter. It can also be run on 8 AA batteries attached to the hand controller (though a more powerful battery might be better.) It includes an illuminated Polaris finder and an 11 lb counter weight. Slow motion controls are also included. The motion is very smooth and the mount is solid.

This is a good looking setup; however, it is not "like new." On a scale of one to ten, I would rate it an eight. Close inspection shows some of the black paint wearing off on some contact surfaces. The counterweight shaft shows some wear on the chrome. The Wooden legs have a few dings in them. The plastic cap for the polar alignment scope has a crack in it (it stays on just fine.) The plastic holder for the illuminated polaris finder also has a small crack in it (this does not affect performance.) Lastly, the drive works OK, but not perfectly. Sometimes it makes a low clicking noise while engaged and sometimes it does not track perfectly. (The only power source I have used is the eight AA batteries, and maybe that is insufficient? or maybe it is just an old drive?) For that reason, I am pricing this more consistent with what one might pay for an SP Mount with no drive. And again, the drive works reasonable well and the slow motion controls work flawlessly.

Price is $395 plus shipping

If you want to use this with a Televue Scope, I will include a TV mounting adapter for an additional $25.

Thanks for looking

Robert Fisher
