We will be offering our MI-750G mount with an AstroPhysics 180 mm refractor October 1. The telescope is f/9 and it dates from the early 1990's.

The condition is good with some small scratches on the main tube. There is a 1 inch scratch on the due shield. Otherwise very clean, no dings, no dents. The dew shield does need new black felt.

Since it is now 10 years old, we have been thinking of sending it back to AP for general cleaning and inspection.

Optics are superb. Some years ago several owners of refractors got together with their telescopes to compare quality with a double pass Ronci/Null test using a certified 1/10 wave optical flat. This AP7, an AP5, and a Takahashi 4 inch won the race hands down - all were nearly perfect. The others were respectable, with a Meade APO coming in last place.

This 7 inch telescope on the MI-750G is somewhat over-mounted . You could easy add a C14 tube assembly and 50 pounds of equipment all attached to a suitable instrument plate. Ideal for a fixed site with lots of equipment to add.

For stand alone use, the MI-500 German mount, which has a 180 pound capacity, is more suitable for this single refractor.

For serious customers, we would be glad to demonstrate this telescope and mount (preferably at night) . We would like to meet and talk to the prospective buyer, if at all possible. Contact us to make arrangements.

Please send E-mail for further details and information. Weather permitting, we will have this scope on Mt Tamalpais (near San Francisco) this weekend.

Visit our web-site for further details. See the "Current Specials" and "Preview" pages.

Thanks for looking.
