Have a dobsonian telescope? Want to install digital setting circles?

Save yourself $$ and get a complete digital setting circles system, in excellent condition.

Includes:

1. latest version of the Sky Commander DSC box (3.38)

2. Discovery Telescopes’ tangent arms with 4000 tick encoders

3. DSC to encoders cable

4. Sky Commander mounting kit for most any dob

5. 12’ RS-232 cable for PC to SC hook-up

6. SC chip tool for upgrades

7. Battery included (somewhat used 9-volt)

8. SC manual

Cost NEW for all this would be over $450. All for only $340, plus shipping/insurance from 13850, CONUS only.

You can get a fix on s/i costs at the ups or usps web sites. The shipping box is about 14" x 11" x 4" and the weight is about 4 pounds, though that's before adding packing material.

Bank check preferred (personal check would take longer to clear).

DETAILS

You can find out all about Sky Commander at the Sky Engineering web site (skyeng). I can also send you some commentaries on why SC is a good choice for DSCs.

The SC mounting kit has a machined bronze bushing and azimuth bolt (used to attach an encoder), a solid metallic altitude encoder coupler, and relevant screws and washers. It’s unused & comes with installation directions. You replace your azimuth bolt with this one. This may involve some drilling if the central hole needs to be widened for the replacement bolt. The SC manual has details. (Contact me about an inexpensive, easy, non-drill solution if you want to install these encoders & DSCs on a Discovery scope.)

E-mail me any questions. I’d be happy to explain or advise.
