Giant by
Rodenstock/Germany, the well known precision optics supplier to the German army, designed this famous eyepiece, "The Giant", for military purposes.
Because these were intended for the military, Rodenstock's optical engineers were able to design a no-compromise, professional, wide field 40mm, 70°, 2", modified Erfle design, with a maximum of opto-mechanical precision. Each is mounted into a BW-Optik designer housing, finished in Constructal/Titaneloxal.
The giant 70° field was realized by using a 70mm diameter meniscus lens doublet. The enormous scope view is possible because of the 40mm focal length and 25mm eye relief - well suited for the human eye.
Professional quality, high performance eyepieces with such enormous lens groups, are the dream of all astronomers.
With "The Giant", you'll enjoy the most amazing wide field views of the sky; with the maximum contrast, sharpness and light transmission.

These unique BW-Optik eyepieces are available exclusively from APM-Telescopes.
They are factory new, and the supply is limited.
We are very pleased to be able to offer "The Giant" for export, at the unbelievable price of US $ 400 plus shipping
