This is a Meade 2045d 4" SCT. It is a very nice scope in excellent condition. One small paint chip in the tube and a few small scratches on the bottom plate around the mounting hole are the only cosmetic issues. Two issues that you should be aware of are:
1. The drive has stopped functioning. For whatever reason the clock drive has ceased to function. I have used the scope manually for the time I have owned it. I made a call to Meade about a month ago to get a quote to fix it and was told that it would be $75 to fix the drive. I had not taken action to send it in, and now I thought I would offer it here as it is and let you decide whether it is important to you.
Maybe you have the skills to fix it yourself, perhaps like me, you are fine with turning the knob to recenter.
2. When I bought the scope from the original owner, the mirror had a drop of some sort of liquid on the primary. It appears to be some sort of excess lubricant. In the 5 years I have had the scope the drop has diminished in size to it's current state of three very small drops (1-1.5 millimeters each in size). I have never seen anything at the eyepiece that indicated these had any effect on the image produced, so I let it be.
It comes with the 1.25 diagonal, table top legs, battery pack, finderscope. The metal construction is sturdy and solid.
I have enjoyed this scope, but like many of you, I am always looking for a new experience, so I am selling this to finance a new scope.
I am new to Astromart, but can provide references on that popular auction site.
