The NexStar 80GT Refractor is a portable short-tube telescope with a fast f/5 optical system, which gives images that are bright and crisp. The 80GT includes computerized GOTO technology with a 4000 plus object database. Because of its wide 3.25-degree field of view, the NexStar 80 is optimal for scanning large areas of the sky and for superb terrestrial (land) viewing. A wonderful first astronomical scope that’s very easy to use allowing you to focus on the heavens instead of the operating the telescope. The scope was purchased new on 04/19/02 and lovingly cared for since, this scope is in excellent condition. Great grab and go scope for casual viewing; it is a lot of fun for kids and at star parties. I have made the usual Short Tube modifications to enhance contrast and performance including lining the dew shield with flocking paper, darkening the edges of lens cell, ensuring no bright screws show inside of optical tube, degreasing and lubing the focuser with lithium grease. All the standard accessories included EXCEPT the 25MM and 10MM SMA eyepieces. I am also including a Celestron solar filter #94135 that is made with Bader Solar Film and I have upgraded the stock focus knobs with the anodized aluminum knobs from focusknobs. I have included the old knobs I case you have a need for them. I have priced the package at $280.00 plus actual shipping costs. I have all of the original boxes, packaging, manuals, receipts, etc. The package ready to ship is 32 inches long, 15 inches wide, 12 inches tall and weighs 22 lbs. You can determine shipping by going to the UPS website and selecting options, entering the package size, your zip code and mine, which is 94551. I accept PayPal but need an additional 3%. Email or call with any questions, thanks - Chris
