Here's your chance to join a small group to view MARS, from the 24" CLARK telescope (that's 609mm of aperture!) :-)

Read below and reply via email, I'll provide additional details. Our group will be small, so you'll have plenty of EP time. :-)
-----------------------------------------------
Hello

I've made 'special' arrangements, with LOWELL OBSERVATORY, to view MARS during it's CLOSEST APPROACH TO EARTH in 30,000 years!

I've RESERVED a PRIVATE VIEWING time for a small group (10 to 12). We'll use this time to look at MARS though the FAMOUS 24" CLARK telescope (the same one that Percival Lowell used while doing his landmark work early in the 20th century).
See these links:
(links are not allowed on Astromart ads, so... email me & I'll send them)

This reservation is a PRIVATE viewing, reserved by me.
We'll have an expert to answer our questions and operate the telescope. However, we'll have 'unlimited access' to the telescope (among our party) for 1.5 hours. (uninterrupted by the public or anyone else).

Reservations are for AUG 22nd at MIDNIGHT to 1:30AM (Aug 23rd) (the moon will be a "waning crescent' and is not scheduled to rise until 1:40AM, after our session), providing us with DARK SKY's :-)

Lowell observatory is located outside Flagstaff AZ. You'll need to make your own travel arrangements and accommodations.

Because this is during the summer vacation period, please use 'haste' in booking reservations (hotel, motel, campground, etc).
(use Yahoo yellow pages to look up the local accomodations or
other travel sites) :-)

Please let me know, ASAP, if you'd like to go. I'm limiting this to a small group (12 at the most)

FEE's: Per person fee depends on the group size. At 10 people,
the Fee would be $21.50 each. At $12 it's $18.60 each.
(Observatory fee = $175 for 1.5hrs PLUS $4.00/person)

THIS IS A ONCE-IN-A-LIFE-TIME EVENT, I HOPE YOU CAN SHARE IT WITH US. :-)

Regards
Bill & Cletia Chandler
