I'm selling a lot of my astronomy equip to fund a new purchase. Some of these items I hate to part with -- like this one. It's an Astrophysics pier that was used with the 706 mount. It's absolutely rock solid and all metal (they didn't get cheap on the metal either). It's heavier than it looks and is ideal for someone wanting a very stable platform for astrophotography or a heavy OTA. Without weighing I'd guess it around 35-40 lbs. Comes apart into 7 pieces.
I measured the height of the pier at 55 1/2". Pier diameter is 4". The top mounting plate is flat with a couple holes drilled in it. The top mounting plate measures 6 3/4". Also - this pier is in good shape but has some rust (could use some new paint). It's relatively easy to setup and transport.
This pier is in line with the products Astrophysics is known to make --- No corners cut and made to last. It will be the best, most stable pier you'll ever own.
Price is $395 + estimated $40 s/h within the Continental U.S.
