Sold. Thanks, Mark!
This is a Celestron CR150HD 6” f/8 refractor OTA, minus the objective lens. I used the objective for an ATM project.
The 2” focuser w/ built-in dovetail finder base has been upgraded with 2.5” (63.5mm) diameter knurled aluminum knobs from AstroSky, and the standard Nylon drawtube slide rails have been replaced with UHMW polyethylene “Slick Strips.” It operates as smoothly and accurately as any Synta focuser ever will.
The objective cell is the early non-adjustable type, and when I had the scope fully assembled and operating the collimation was dead-nuts concentric, as tested with a Cheshire, sight tube, laser, and visual star test. I’ll include the original dewshield, which I have lined with Protostar flocked baffling sheet.
The main tube section has ugly paint chips and scratches, but is not dented at all. It has two precision through holes to accommodate an Orion / Losmandy type dovetail finder bracket base (not included), and one precision threaded hole to accommodate a Rigel QuikFinder base (not included). They are located to center these accessories 120 degrees apart, at 60 degrees to either side of the focuser’s top center. The interior is in original new condition, including the standard knife-edge baffles. It has the usual grease stain around the objective cell / main tube joint.
Sorry, caps, tube rings, finder brackets, or finder not included. Just what you see in the photo below.
Drop in your own objective (a TMB, D&G, or RR would ROCK!), do a paint job, and you’ve got a great scope.
I’m asking $200, shipped to the CONUS. I prefer Paypal. I may have to ship sub-assemblies in separate containers.
