C8 OTA for sale, along with extras. This is a repost since the last sale fell through. This is a recent vintage (bought new in the fall of 2000) C8 OTA, black tube, Fastar compatible, with good, pristine optics. I'm no star tester so I won't even speculate on wavefront error, but the optics seem good and, in moments of atmospheric steadiness (not that common here in Indiana, unfortunately), it has given excellent planetary images. I haven't used it in 8 or 9 months since I got a 9.25" OTA, so it's time to let it go. Also included with the OTA are the original Celestron 1 1/4" diagonal, an unopened 6x30 finderscope with bracket, Bobs Knobs collimation thumbscrews, an Orion flexible dewshield with a small cutout for the dovetail bracket (this the dovetail bracket for a CG5 mount), and an Orion dew heater. There are a few minor use scratches on the OTA and, of course, some on the dovetail, but nothing major in either case. The optics are completely blemish free, no scratches, smudges, or coating issues. $550 shipped will get it immediately, or I'll take the best offer I recieve within one week of posting this ad (that is, the best offer I get by March 26th). Payment should be in the form of a postal money order. Thanks for looking, now buy, buy, BUY!!! :-)
