This is a complete set of 1970 vintage Brandon eyepieces with Dakin Barlow and filters. Included: 32mm, 24mm, 16mm, 12mm, 8mm eyepieces, 2X Dakin Barlow all in the original aluminum cases, and 7 filters in the original Vernonscope case. Filter #s 11X-1, 25, 38A, 47, 58, 82A, and 3N5.
Overall the set is very nice. There is some wear on the barrels from sliding them in and out of the old style compression focuser tubes. On the 32mm, 8mm and 12mm the wear is very minor, a little more on the 24mm and 16mm. Also the anodizing is worn on the sharp edge of the knurling around the top of the eyepieces and on the knurling on the aluminum eyepiece holders. This is minor and doesn't affect the overall very nice appearance of the eyepieces. The glass and coatings are absolutely excellent. There are no dents, dings or setscrew marks. The filters are all in excellent condition, but also have the slight wear on the sharp edge of the knurling. There is a vinyl covering on the case that holds the filters, this covering is cracked along the seam where the case opens, the case and opening flap are still solid.
I understand that the aluminum eyepiece cases are very desirable; they are far and away the best protection for an eyepiece that I've ever seen. This is a complete set that I bought new in 1970 from Tom Cave.
Price, $800.00 Shipped and insured in CONUS. I would prefer to sell as a complete package, but would reduce to $700.00 without filters. Eyepieces are offered as a set only at this time.
