If you don't want to pay big bucks for that EQ mount, this is a
TAL RA drive equatorial mount on a 30" high, 4" steel pier, with custom wooden case.

This mount has several upgrades from factory state, including modifications where the mount connects to the pier so it is "rock solid". I also added an Azimuth adjuster and 3/4" stainless steel adjustable feet to aid in levelling and polar alignment. The original unsealed TAL worm bearings were also upgraded to TMB sealed bearings.

Easily handles a 6-8" newtonian, small SCT or other scope up to about 25 pounds loaded.

I have to sell this to help pay for some new equipment on order, so I'll listen to reasonable offers.

You can see photos and get specs on this mount on the TalScopes website but I am not allowed to post the URL here. Additional pictures taken at WSP '03 are below, with my 8" newtonian atop it.

The EQ head is shipped in its custom wooden carrying case, and includes one 8# counterweight, a detachable counterweight bar, a 120VAC to 12VAC adapter with 30' cord, and one pair of cast aluminum 7" felt lined and hinged tube rings. I have a cradle & rings for a 10" tube that are not part of this sale, but I may listen if you really need them. The pier is shipped in a separate box.

No premium for PayPal. Willing to meet halfway for a New England sale. Include shipping from 01824 in your offer.

Thanks for looking,

Bruce
