"SOLD" This is an Orion Short tube 90mm Refractor which is approximately 1 year old. It has been used as a guide scope and photo scope on my Meade 10" SCT. The scope is in excellent condition, with no signs of marring or scratching of the tube from the mounting rings. I found the focuser to be a little loose for a long photographic train, and an additional hole was drilled and tapped into the draw tube and a supplemental screw was added to more tightly hold the camera/barlow/extension tube without flexure. It has the standard finder scope and mounting bracket which were only removed from their box for the sake of this photo. The scope has a nice set of aluminum Focus Knobs which replace the cheap factory plastic pieces. These are real nice and knurled. There are 2 scratches on the top of the draw tube from what appears to be caused by the screws for the mounting bracket for the finder scope making contact. They do not affect the performance of the scope and are only visible when the focuser is racked far out. The scope shows the typical amount of false violet you would expect from an inexpensive refractor. It is being sold without a diagonal or eyepiece. I have had a lot of fun with this scope, and have enjoyed it's wide field views. My only reason for selling it now, is because I have purchased a new Takahashi and have moved up a little. $175.00 + shipping in the original Orion box.
