Dell Inspiron 7500 notebook / laptop computer
256MB RAM, PIII-500 mobile processor, 12GB hard disk, 24x CDROM / floppy combo drive (in removable bay), GOOD battery and charger (takes and holds a charge), 15"+ active TFT SXGA display (1400x1050 resolution), ATI RAGE mobility video, touchpad-syle pointer, ECP printer port, mouse/keyboard port, serial port, VGA monitor port, S-Video port, speaker / microphone / headphone ports, 2 PCMCIA / cardbus slots, USB port, Terrapin carrying case, Xircom 10/100 cardbus ethernet card. Will accept a second battery (not included) in place of the removable CDROM/floppy drive.
Less than 2 years old (just coming off service contract), in excellent working condition, no cracks or blemishes in case, only problem is that lower PCMCIA slot has a broken eject button - the card can still be removed from the slot manually.
Computer is currently loaded with RedHat Linux 8.0, but will also work with Windows 98/2K/XP (display drivers are downloadable from Dell's website). You must provide your own operating system if you don't want to use Linux.
This is a very nice laptop for field astronomy, I'm only selling it because I upgraded to a Dell Inspiron 8200.
Asking $425 (including shipping to lower 48 states). Guaranteed to be not DOA, in as-described condition. Payment with money order, cashier's check or PayPal (add 2% for PayPal).
