The planets are coming, and Mars will make its closest approach in 15 years. Everyone sings the praises of the MN-56, and this scope is no exception. I purchased it slighly over a year ago (6/7/01) from ITE, and it is rated at 1/8th wave, with A Strehl of 96.3% (substantiating certificate included). The Vixen GP Mount, is the best small equatorial mount around and does an admirable job of supporting and moving this scope. Package includes MN-56 OTA, Crayford 2" focuser with 1.25" adapter, 6 X 30 finder with detachable bracket, Intes aluminum dew shield, all caps and covers, certificate of optical quality, owner's manual, Vixen GP mount, adapter plate, slo-motion controls, setting circles, polar alignment scope, counter weights, and adjustable wooden legs. Scope is in excellent condition, with no marks, dents, dings or other imperfections in tube or optics. Mount shows some wear, but is fully functional. I paid $870 for the OTA and dew shield on 6/7/01. A new Vixen GP mount sells for $700. That's $1600 worth of scope and mount that will give the world's best 5" APOs a run for their money. I will sell this package for $990 plus $65 shipping and insurance. I will send shipping receipt, and if actual UPS shipping and insurance is less, I will refund difference. I hate to part with this outstanding scope and mount, but I received an MN-61 and cannot keep both. Call if you have any questions, and thanks for looking!
